The story
Stagecoach Bar opened in Wilson in 1942, near the base of Teton Pass. Its Sunday gathering, known locally as "Church," grew around the Stagecoach Band, which began playing here in February 1969.
The tradition pairs live country and western swing with dancing. Founding band member Bill Briggs helped make these Sunday sessions a meeting place for generations of Jackson Hole residents and visitors. Other nights have different music and entertainment, so Sunday is the bar's longstanding country-music gathering.
