The story
Ray Chaney opened the original Stagecoach Inn in October 1961, with Al Dexter playing opening night. Willie Nelson, Bob Wills, Porter Wagoner and Jim Reeves were among the acts booked during its early years. After a fire at its second location, the club moved into a former Safeway at 2516 East Belknap in April 1967. Ella Langley filmed the music video for 'Choosin’ Texas' at Stagecoach Ballroom in 2026, with Miranda Lambert, Luke Grimes and Ava Phillippe appearing.
