The story
Clark County Commissioner George Fayle built the Pioneer Saloon in 1913, when Goodsprings was a working mining town. In 1916 he also built the 20-room Hotel Fayle next door; the hotel burned in 1966, and the saloon is still serving. Travel Nevada counts it among the oldest bars in the state. The main cherry wood bar was made by Brunswick in the late 1800s and shipped west. In January 1942 the saloon served as the search headquarters after Carole Lombard's plane crashed on nearby Mount Potosi, and it keeps a Carole Lombard memorial room. The music is local and current. In August 2026 the saloon held its 4th annual Country Music Showcase: five days of free, all-ages shows by ten Las Vegas acts. Its own calendar lists live music, karaoke and special events through the year.
