216 Corinth St, Dallas, TX 75207
The story
Built in 1950 for Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, the venue began as Bob Wills' Ranch House. Dewey Groom later renamed it the Longhorn Ballroom and developed it into a major Dallas music room.
Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard and Charley Pride are among the country artists in its history. The stage also hosted jazz, blues, R&B and rock performers. Today's Longhorn continues as a concert venue whose programming extends beyond its country and western swing roots.
