The story
The Cowboy Saloon & Dance Hall took its present identity after Marian Griffin bought the property in 1985. The connected buildings had earlier housed a Buick garage and Gene's Liquor and Package.
Chancey Williams played here during his University of Wyoming years, and the venue continues to host country bands, touring acts and dance lessons. Trevor and Trinity Thatcher purchased the Cowboy in 2025, returning as owners to the place where they had their first date as UW students 24 years earlier.
