Built in 1924, the building began as a garage before becoming a dance academy and ballroom. Bob Wills debuted at Cain’s on New Year’s Night in 1935 and made it home through 1942, with dances and radio broadcasts spreading Western swing. Its maple floor is laid in concentric squares with springs beneath.
